Job Description:
The Claims Coordinator is primarily responsible for overseeing the filing and resolution of cargo claims related to ocean and air shipment damages. The candidate must possess excellent communication skills as well as effective problem-solving and analytical skills. Must be able to prioritize and balance multiple tasks simultaneously. The candidate must be fluent in Spanish & English as they will be dealing with our international customers.
Key Responsibilities.
- - Assists customers with cargo claims against transportation companies or suppliers for shortages/damaged freight
- - Interact with Customer, Suppliers, Surveyors, and Carriers
- - Analyze and thoroughly investigate claims by collecting pictures, documents, and any related information
- - Submit fully investigated claims to the liable party
- - Address disputes submitted by the suppliers & carriers in a manner that would result in recovery
- - Issue credits and debit notes to the customer or other parties
- - Maintain Claim Log and GL entries
Requirements
- - Bi-lingual English/Spanish (Fluent Verbal & Written)
- - Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- - Prior Cargo or Freight experience a plus, but not required
- - Excellent communication and organizational skills
- - Strong attention to detail
